Under the supervision of the VP of HS/EHS Programs, the Health Services Manager is primarily responsible for the management, oversight and compliance of health services for the Head Start/Early Head Start programs of NHCAC as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards.  The Health Services Manager ensures the health of children, families, and staff stays at the forefront of each program’s service delivery system.

Valid and in good standing NJ LPN license. Must have and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. Valid and in good standing NJ driver’s license.

Knowledgeable in Early Childhood Education, Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff and other professionals.  Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and embrace the cultural diversity of families.  Ability to work with infants/toddlers, preschool children, school aged children and adults. Understand and value the connections between health, behavioral health, and learning. Have a working knowledge of the HSPPS and other federal, state, territorial, tribal, and local requirements regarding health and safety in early care and education.

Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator

This is a full-time on-site role for a WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator located in Union City, NJ. The WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating breastfeeding education and support services, conducting assessments, developing breastfeeding plans, and providing counseling to WIC participants.

Qualifications

·         International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required

Under the supervision of the Chief Nutritionist, the Nutritionist provides nutrition assessments, counseling and food package prescriptions for women, infants and children in accordance with NHCAC and NJ Department of Health (DOH) policies and procedures.

Required Education: Master of Science Degree in Clinical Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Dietetics, or Nutritional Science or be a Registered Dietitian. OR Bachelor of Science Degree in an approved Program in Dietetics with a DPD Verification Statement or Plan IV or V.

Screen participants for WIC enrollment by eliciting proof of income, ID, family size, residency information and immunization records. Answer, transfer and return telephone calls .Prescreen new applicants. Explains WIC Program, reviews required documents and answers questions on program. Schedules appointments and follows-up with missed appointments. Participates in outreach activities. Travels to satellite sites as scheduled and/or needed.

Must possess MD in Medicine and 3 years of Medical Residency Training. Must also possess active Medical License in the State of New Jersey; Board Certification in Internal Medicine. Current BCLS, Current DEA Certificate. Salary: $180,000 to $190,000.

Head Start Family Engagement Advocate

The Family Advocate will serve as the primary link to families enrolled in the Head Start/Early Head Start Programs. The Family Advocate will facilitate successful program involvement, act as a change agent and assist in successful transition for families throughout their Head Start experience.
